A little black dress is going to stay relevant till the end of time. However, Coachella fashion, not so much. As much as I enjoy music and reviewing the looks from the past weekend I was not overjoyed. I also adore bell bottoms, cropped crochet tops and heavy rustic metal pieces but I was just not feeling it nor felt it was necessary to do a favorite looks post; with that being said I haven't seen any prominent outfits that stood out to me. How this ties in today's post? Weather. Spring is in full effect and the colors made me change my Instagram theme for the 3rd time this month, oops. I venerate the freedom I endure in this season and here to share my latest mini adventure featuring my new fave little black dress. This look is something different I usually wouldn't do which is wear a dress that is knee length and form fitting. Surprisingly enough I am also obsessed at how comfy and simple but put together vibe it gave me (perfect for Coachella too); all you need to complete it is eclectic and funky jewels and a pair of shades.

Trying not to Try: I feel too much joy sleeping in on Sundays but it is seriously the best. It is now 5 pm while I'm typing this and to give you a little run through on how my day went: I showered quick thinking I was going out today little did I know my little sister is sick so we watched Star Wars (the recent one) -- which I've never actually experienced one before -- took a nap 20 min before the ending scene, made cookies with my mom, and planted myself in my room for about 3 hours just watching Youtube videos and the new season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. So to put it all in gist, I was very unproductive; however, I am here writing.

Happy Friday, Happy April, and Happy first day of Spring break for me :-) I have spent this first day just cleaning and lounging around trying to figure out to post throughout the week because I have plenty of time on my hands and no responsibilities. Since it is a new month you're probably expecting a playlist or mood board but I'm feeling something new, a quarter of the new year has past and writing on this blog for awhile now I've learned that being consistent never helps me strive; therefore, I bring you a short new series I like to call Trying not to Try, which essentially will be stories, drawings, inspo, videos, music and maybe photo diaries of me simply living throughout this month and possibly carry on through May.

As a gross hormonal teenager, I have spent way too much of my free time watching 90's romance movies and repetitively saying goals when googly eyeing Adrian Grenier in Drive Me Crazy — so I obviously tend to daydream of what the perfect date would be and come up with scenarios of how I may possibly fall in love some day what ever love means. However I know for sure that some traits like digging the same music, sharing a political philosophy and even loving coffee can bring 2 people together. Since I'm going to be alone this beautiful holiday, I decided to make this cute little application for kicks and giggles and share some characteristics that would make 1% of an ideal Valentines date for me or even boyfriend.

But in all seriousness, if you're alone like me DO NOT put yourself down especially if you are also a teen gal. Teen boys suck right now and you have your whole life ahead - dance to some tunes, watch more 90's movies, order yourself a pizza because it is the 21st century and totally legal to do that and even invite some of your girl gang and celebrate the love you have for friends and life in general this weekend. No slanty faces here!

If you were thinking about the popular Instagram filter used in 2012 when you read the title than you are correct but also addicted to this dumb application like me. I've been on this photo spree for all 4 years of high school and I never thought it would still be the "it" social media in 4 years later, and I never thought it would become such a serious thing to many of us. You know what I'm talking about...... I like to call it the "Instagram Dilemma." To be or not to be, whether it is nobler to match your feed or post what ever the heck you want. Now I am not here to judge because I am just a complete mess in general.

Mercury in retrograde is usually a bad thing each month but lately it's been treating me well. You can judge me if you'd like but I do believe in horoscopes and Refinery29 told me that I would have a lot of "me" time this month and it's already hit me. This new year in general has given me time to reevaluate myself creatively and mentally, which is the result of this post. Although i'm not sure if anyone has come up with this already I'll just tell myself I came up with it and feel great about it, here I bring you the A-Z Me Tag. Also inspired by i-D magazines A-Z videos. I predict and hope I do have more new readers this year and my last random facts about me was posted late 2014 and I'm pretty sure I've changed a lot since then. Rules to my fellow blog gals tagged, tag 3 people, keep it simple and of course - be yourself.

Fashion month is over... *insert gif of Kim Kardashian saying tragic.* But style lives forever and autumn is here, the streets are our runways and I've gained an excessive amount of inspiration from the Spring/Summer shows as well as the coolest chics attending. I put together these sets to illustrate the essentials needed for the chill weather as well as a color palette to help you create a fresh look!

I'm loving this Q&A series and getting to know more about others in the blog scene. I like sharing my interest in fashion to you but it's also nice to share how weird (but cool.... duh) I am through my so called adventures or blurbs about my week and of course questionnaires like this whom I was tagged by Madison from BAD SASS. Check out her blog for the brattiest attitude, the baddest style and cool sunset pics.

First off I can't wait to walk down the halls with this chic backpack and second I know that you must feel annoyed that school is coming so soon but I'm here to share quick tips and my essentials to get you prepared for the new year.

On this episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Rachel (unrelated to Cali's elite) shares her
music faves at the moment and what ever else is fabulous in her life at the moment.
In "real talk" as in if you're over the age of 18 and have never been to my blog, you've come right on time to here about me and what I've been up to in 5 random spiels. I do this once in awhile just to spice up my blog and just let you know the real Rach.

What is my personal style? I like to describe my look as eclectic because I am in the category of minimal chic (black, white, grey, structured pieces) but I do always have this pop that I think really defines "me" - This includes my signature R earrings as well as color, patterns, purses and jewelry that usually isn't paired with some of the clothing I get seen in store advertisements. For example, I'll be wearing a camel turtle neck, black shorts and white trainers but have a bright pink purse with silver hard wear and gold bohemian rings. I've also been loving denim - DENIM.IS.BEAUTIFUL.
The point of this post was to describe my look and share where I getting/got my inspiration, share about some great people and maybe help you get inspired.
Leandra Medine
Medine's serious fashion but not so serious attitude has really helped me become creative with my clothing - I mean look at that outfit below! and I've come up with a new saying that we should totally carry on and I ask myself a lot while shopping - What Whould Leandra Wear? Just like WWJD but Leandra style because she's a fashion god. Some of her signatures include denim (as we discovered my new FAVE!!), button downs, turtle necks and asymmetrical tops like the one above.

Besides this being a great week for America (marriage equality, confederate flag taken down etc), I have to admit this first month of summer wasn't the epitome of "carpe diem" or lively in anyway but c'mon, I need to rest from this hell of a school year. July is going to be an eventful month and I have a lot in store for my grand ol' blog, starting with this fabulous post of some items that have been super beneficial, as well as enjoyable to me recently.
1. My journal
I actually use this more as a planner for tasks needed to be done during the day and organizing everything for this site and I'm not sure why but it's just satisfying writing cute notes.
2. Iced green tea
I've always loved green tea, it's excellent for the season if you want something with a little caffeine and more refreshing than water and fun fact: green tea can improve brain function and to be bikini ready it increases fat burning!
3. Little black bag
Just like the little black dress, this bag is essential. It's 2 years old and missing the top tassel but it's very roomy, light, chic and versatile
4. Clinique Acne Solutions
GOD BLESS THESE PRODUCTS THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL SYSTEM. But seriously my skin is so much brighter and clearer and it took me a whole year to find something as awesome as this kit.
5. Watercolors
I guess you could say I have been watercolor crazy these past 2 weeks, making personal and easy gifts and just painting to pass time. Super easy and relaxing!
6. Kate Spade initial earrings
Okay I actually just bought these this week but I already LOVE them! Ever since I watched The Carrie Diaries last year I've been on the hunt for something with my initials on it because on the show Anna Sophia Robb aka Carrie wears a necklaces with a "C" on it in block font as well as dainty and minimal. I think its great to kind of have that signature jewelry and this is mine.
7. Aviators
How Danielle Bernstein of me and that's part of the reason I purchased them. These sunnies are work with any look and make me feel sassy!
8. Portable Charger
Similar to my Clinique set, this has saved my life, I mean what if I missed a perfect Instagram moment or am in an emergency? Not to mention the sleek savior is an adorable rose gold.

Lastly online faves, specifically YouTube:
9. Rachel Nguyen
Also known as thatschic's vlogs and other gamble just seems so simple yet I am always interested in what she's doing or posting on Instagram or writing - a lot of travel and great style. The Cali babe is just fab.
10. Casey Neistat
On the total opposite side (literally - not fashion and on the East Coast), Casey is just a great camera man and has probably heard it a bunch but he seems to have a great life whether it's riding a hoverboard segway thingy in his office or letting Karlie Kloss carry his baby, Leandra Medine gets surprised when she sees him, the New York daily vlogs are just entertaining for everyone.
What's your recent favorites for the season?

Plants are friends, friends are plants. I've been wanting to make one of these terrariums for a while and I needed a new decor piece to freshen up my room and whats more fresher than mother Earth. Turns out making the plant holder is very easy, only three steps to make a new home for your plants!
WHAT YOU NEED
- Rocks
- A jar, I depotted an old candle
- Soil (not shown in the picture)
- Your fellow green friends
STEP 1: Fill half the jar with rocks
STEP 2: Placement
Pour an inch of soil on top of the rocks, pat soil down, place the plant in the jar and fill soil around the plant up to the top of the jar.
STEP 3: Water your plants and don't forget to name them!
My lovely Ezra Koenig (if you don't know my obsession with Vampire Weekend's lead singer your never too late on the news) and Lil P from the Garden, if you don't know Lil B from the Pack you're not living!

This is my second blog post in a row where the title is referring to Drake, what can I say? He's lit. I'd like to share my fave street looks and a playlist from Randall's Island because if you follow me on any social media or have read this, you know that I envy city living and love anything related to New York and music so Governors Ball was just another necessity I was inspired by and have to share .....and to be honest the street looks were much more comfortable, chill, easy to wear than Coachella looks.

I've been having such a lack of creativity but thankfully I have my trusty iPhone to guide me through the lovely land of Instagram. These feeds have kind of transformed mine to become more simple with feminine touches and food! I also decided to clean my whole act and step up my IG game by deleting all the photos that do not match. Here are the beautiful feeds:
@evaalt
The Glossier gal has been in Teen Vogue and has a blog of her own intothegloss.com Eva's feed is full of aesthetically pleasing #apartmentandlivinggoals as well as yummy looking munchies. I also love the color combinations in her photo that give off a such a fresh look. (I also need to buy Glossier products!)

@gabyavillalta
I honestly just have three words that describe her perfect feed:
brows
white
pink
@shelbclark_
Shelby is a New Yorker with the coolest minimal looks. Again.. I love her food posts and shoe game but I especially adore her city photos, in fact I enjoy all city photos and when it comes to New York who wouldn't. Shelby's blog: minimalminded.com
@denisedanielle
Her feed just slays! The silver haired beauty has a simple and sporty style and another cool NYC gal.

First I'd like to apologize for my hiatus, school just sucks soOoOOoO much and has just been time consuming. But I pinky promise that I'm back for good (knock on wood), and I have more unique content coming up for all you lovely and patient people. Obviously, Coachella was everything these past two weeks and I was not crying in my bedroom over outfits and live stream and eating Ben & Jerrys fudge ice cream because I definitely didn't want to be there. From floppy hats to gladiators, I have for you my top 5 fave looks from celebs and regular people as well as where you can get some of the items I adore and need to buy asap!
Culotte Covet
This look is all comfort aka the best kind of look - flowy top, pants and protective head gear (from sun rays of course). When I saw the texture on culottes I knew I had to have these, not only versatile but the comfort from the length and weight make them perfect for the season and the raw edge on them makes the look give off laid back vibes. And subtle denim on denim is becoming super popular this, denim rocks in general!
Groove is in the Heart
The 70s are back and making its mark, MS MR's Lizzy Plapinger is rockin' this two piece, fun playful and disco appropriate shoes. Her hair is what's really bringing the outfit together, florescent and spunky.
Utility Gal
I would not be brave enough to wear this one piece wonder to a festival but that get up is way too cute to not wear. I also love how she mixes tougher pieces/colors with dainty/cute adornments like the leather knapsack and olive green with the floral choker and turquoise cat eyes for the extra sass.
Nomadic Prep
Kate Bosworth workin' it in neutrals just like the desert. White is not my safe color for any event but the dress and purse are pull the suede, rugged pieces to be more sleek and pristine. The detail on the jacket also makes the look unique and casual enough for the fun weekend.
Baddie B in a Bandanna
To begin this I'd like to say I've been obsessed with Bella Hadid since 2012 when I found out she was famous with Kendall and Kylie. She is super outgoing (based on her social media) and not afraid to express herself shown well through her outfits like this one: loose blouse, essential denim shorts and bandanna. The scarf reminds me of Rosie the Riveter giving us gals the tough look just in a more modern way. We can do it! For a decent price too, bandannas and other neck scarves are super cheap at Walmart or for a more unique kind at the thrift store.

In exactly a week we reach the first hints of Summer...... Coachella! If you have no idea what it is, Coachella is an arts and music festival held in Indio, California for three days for two weekends. But it isn't just music and art, it's also known for celebrity and commoners unique, laid-back, free and effortless looks (fashionably) during the Spring and Summer. Unfortunately I am no-chella but I have created 4 Coachella-inspired looks and playlist - perfect for dancing, singing or maybe riding a ferris wheel at any of the seasons' events.
